Washing my Macchinetta after preparing myself an espresso, I noticed that coffee grains sometime form patterns on the bottom of the sink. Curious, I began to play with them. I gathered the leftover coffee into one corner of the sink, then poured a small amount of water over it. The water carried with it coffee grains, leaving delicate trails between clusters of grains, sometimes forming strange intriguing patterns.
